Black Garage Doors
Black frames, glass panels, built to the opening you measure. Three door types, one finish family.

Black Garage Doors, Built to Your Opening
Black garage doors are a finish choice, not a separate product line. We build three door types at WANJIA Hiseng and all of them can be finished black: the Modern Framed Glass Garage Door, the Frameless Mirrored Garage Door and the Aluminum Sectional Garage Door. Frame color, glass tint and hardware get specified on the same drawing, so the door reads as one dark unit instead of a black frame with panes that fight it.
The North American market is where most of our garage door work goes, and the questions we get are usually about openings, not colors. A door is made to the rough opening you measure, so a 9x7 or a 10x8 opening is quoted as a custom size rather than pulled from a shelf. Nothing here is stock. You send the opening width, height and headroom, and the factory builds to those numbers.
If you are comparing suppliers, ask what comes in the crate. Tracks, springs, hardware, motor and remote should be spelled out in writing, because what ships from a factory and what a local dealer stocks are not always the same list. The Commercial & Residential Garage Door Division of DASMA, North America's trade association for garage door manufacturers, covers wind resistance, thermal performance and pinch resistance as standing technical topics, which tells you what a serious spec sheet is supposed to address.
What You Can Specify
Three door types, one black finish family, and a glass list that runs from clear to black mirrored.
Framed Glass Doors
Aluminum profiles in 2.5 mm and 6 mm thickness, glazed with large panels. The black frame reads as a wall of windows, which suits showrooms, car dealerships and modern residential frontages.
Frameless Mirrored
5 mm single-layer black glass or 5 mm aluminum plate, tempered. One-way reflective privacy means you see out during the day while the street sees a dark mirror. This is the flattest, most monolithic look in the range.
Sectional Panels
Aluminum profile at 1.5 mm, with polyurethane or EPS insulation filling the panel. Sections fold up overhead, so a black double garage door keeps the driveway clear instead of swinging out into it.
Finish and Glass
Powder coating, fluorocarbon coating, wood-grain transfer or electrophoresis, matched to RAL. Glass comes in Low-E, clear, coated, laminated or insulated, in blue, dark brown, green, grey, frosted or black mirrored.

A black and white garage door scheme usually comes down to one question: which part carries the color. Paint the frame black and keep the glass clear, and you get a dark grid against a bright interior. Go black frame plus black mirrored or tinted glass, and the whole elevation turns into one dark plane. Both work. The second one hides more, and that matters if the garage faces the street and you don't want your tools on display at night.
Ordering a door from overseas is where the details bite. A black single garage door and a black double garage door are the same product built to different openings, and the opening is measured, not guessed. Take three width readings across the top, middle and bottom, and three height readings at the left, center and right, then use the smallest of each. The finished unit sits square in a frame that is never perfectly square.
For operation, the range uses a remote-control opener with open, stop and close control, an auto light, and obstacle auto-reverse. Infrared photo-eye, overload and overheat protection, and a manual release for power failures are available. A WiFi remote option exists if the door needs to sit on a smart-home system. DASMA's Door Operator & Electronics Division covers openers, remote controls and sensing devices, so the safety features are the ones the trade actually argues about.

Questions buyers ask
Is a black garage door a good idea?
It depends on the wall behind it. A black frame with clear or frosted glass looks sharp on light stucco, brick or render, and it disappears into a dark facade. On a small, shaded elevation it can read heavy. Order a sample of the finish and hold it against the wall in daylight before you commit to the whole door.
Are black garage doors more expensive?
Color is a finish choice here, not a separate product line, so black is quoted the same way as any other RAL match. What moves the price is the door type, the glass specification, the size of the opening and the motor and hardware package. Ask for a line-item quote so you can see which part is driving the number.
What is the most popular color for garage doors?
We don't publish sales data, so we won't guess at a ranking. What we can tell you is what buyers ask for: black and dark grey frames with clear or black mirrored glass, and white or wood-grain finishes for more traditional elevations. Pick the finish that matches the trim and the roof line, then match the glass to it.
Can I get a black garage door with windows?
Yes. Black garage doors with windows are the framed glass type, where the aluminum frame is finished black and the glazing runs across the panel. Glass can be clear, frosted, tinted or black mirrored. Send the opening size and the glass you want, and the frame and glazing get specified together on the drawing.
